The Gaspee Project invites you to become a Personal Voting Assistant (PVA) as part of our upcoming Get Out the Vote (GOTV) 2024 campaign. Our focus on ballot harvesting aims to increase voter turnout in key districts across Rhode Island. By organizing these initiatives, we empower our community and ensure every eligible vote is cast and counted, promoting fair elections. Join us in standing up against extremist policies and advocating for a government that genuinely serves 'we the people.'
There are many advantages to mail ballot voting:
- Banks Your Vote - guarantees your vote is cast and counted
- Ease of voting from home - instead of making snap decisions as you stand in a ballot station at a voting precinct, you will have plenty of time to research and consider the candidates before marking your ballot.
- The Gaspee Project website and your personal PVA can answer any general questions you may have about the maill ballot process
- Increases voter turnout and guarantees your vote supports candidates who share your values
- Saves the Party and The Gaspee Project the time and expense of following up with those who have not yet voted
As a PVA, you will be assigned a detailed walking list of inconsistent voters and households to personally approach in targeted districts - with the goal of personally walking them through the process of applying for a mail ballot, privately filling out the ballot, and providing it back to you for legal submission to an official Board Of Elections local canvassing office.
And ... you can even earn up to $500.
And ... you can even earn up to $500.
We estimate that if your are assigned 100 voters to contact and work with over the coming months ... you will need to spend approximately 20-25 total hours of your time to reach our targeted success rate goal.
You will be asked to be diligent in working your list, requiring a determined, yet gentle "can do" attitude.
Your initial time will be spent canvassing households and personally reviewing the "how to" flyer with the voter(s), filling out the mail ballot application on the spot, then following up by phone to set a time to pick up their properly completed ballot in October.

The Gaspee Project has already raised the funds to hire and train PVAs and to provide them with necessary materials to be successful, including "How To" and "FAQ" e-flyers.
